I'm just back from a really exciting 24 hours in Dublin where I met booksellers, did an interview with Catherine Conroy for The Irish Times, chatted on the radio, and had my first go at being on tv.
I've always loved visiting Ireland, but never - never ever - did I think I would write a novel and see it in book shops there. As you can see from my face in the photos, (huge thanks to Dubray Books and Easons), it was really special.
After a day of visiting book shops, we headed to RTE Radio 1 to appear on Arena With Sean Rocks. Sean was lovely about Dear Mrs Bird, and we had a great chat about it.
Finally, first thing the next morning it was off to TV3 and Ireland:am. Live tv - gulp! But Ireland:am's Mark Cagney and all the team were super kind and I had a lovely time.
After that it was straight off to the airport and back home to reality. A wonderful twenty four hours!
